Chris Ferreira has a diverse background in community development, regulatory and government work experience. He has been with the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco since August 2014 where he leads the annual offering of AHEAD, an economic development grant program funded by the Bank. He previously worked at The Low Income Investment Fund (LIIF) and Capital Impact Partners (formerly NCB Capital Impact), two of the leading Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) in the country. While at LIIF and Capital Impact Partners, Chris underwrote, structured and financed a variety of community facility projects, including charter schools, community health centers, other non-profit facilities, and affordable housing projects. He also worked on New Markets Tax Credit transactions and was key support for the Bay Area Transit Oriented Affordable Housing (TOAH) Fund, a public-private partnership that provides financing for development along transit lines in the nine-county Bay Area.
Chris received a BA in American Studies from UC Berkeley and an MBA from the Graduate School of Management at UC Davis. He was a four-year letterman in Track & Field while at UC Berkeley, including winning the 1996 Pacific-10 Long Jump Championship. In his spare time, Chris volunteers on the real estate development committee at East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC), one of the leading affordable housing and community builders in the East Bay and he also enjoys working out, spending time with this family, and collecting ‘70’s & ‘80’s vintage pop culture memorabilia.
