Last week, resident leaders from across EBALDC communities recently came together for an inspiring day of learning, leadership, and connection as part of NeighborWorks America’s Community Leadership Institute (CLI): Ignite program.
Hosted at Jack London Gateway Senior Housing in Oakland, the event provided resident leaders with an opportunity to strengthen their leadership skills, build relationships, and reflect on the power of resident-led change. Through interactive activities, storytelling, team-building exercises, and group discussions, participants explored how leadership begins with personal experiences and grows through collective action.
CLI Ignite is a national leadership development initiative designed to strengthen the voices, skills, and impact of community, resident, and volunteer leaders. This year’s Ignite Day encouraged participants to reflect on their leadership journeys, develop practical skills, and support one another in creating positive change within their communities.
Resident leader’s stories, ideas, and commitment to improving their communities demonstrated the strength of resident leadership throughout EBALDC and the Oakland community. We are excited this year marks 15 years of EBALDC’s Resident Leadership Council.
A special thank you goes to the resident leaders, staff, and interpreters who helped make the day a success. Together, we are building stronger communities by investing in the leadership and vision of residents.
We look forward to continuing this journey through upcoming CLI workshops and future opportunities for resident leaders!
