Chinatown Transit Oriented Development
Senior Affordable Housing Groundbreaking
We had a beautiful day with 300 partners, community members, and public officials to break ground on our Chinatown TOD Senior Affordable Housing project. This marks the first step in restoring Chinatown.
Special thanks to the community organizations that led 16 years of activism to make this day possible, and to BART Director Robert Raburn, who envisions a thriving Chinatown around what will be known as the Oakland Chinatown BART Station. We were also honored by the presence of several speakers, including Congresswoman Barbara Lee, Mayor Sheng Thao, and BART Director Lateefah Simon, among others, who celebrated the significance of this project for the Chinatown community.
