Home Is Where the Art Is: EBALDC’s “Artists in Residence”
The work of eight EBALDC residents is on display at a new visual art exhibition at the Asian Resource Center Gallery. “Artists in Residence: Creative Works from the Residents of EBALDC” showcases examples of the vibrant culture within EBALDC’s affordable housing communities, featuring artists Richard Aswad, Christine A. Chen, Tiffany R. Chen, Liang Ming Ming, Shelley Smith, Anna Wong, Anne Wong, and Pan Yuchuan.
An open call for artwork resulted in submissions from artists that represent a broad spectrum of the talent within the EBALDC community. The exhibited artists range in age, experience and artistic intent.
“Artists in Residence” runs through December 13, 2013, at the Asian Resource Center Gallery at 310 8th Street in Oakland. Gallery hours are Mondays-Fridays between 9:00 am-5:00 pm. The exhibit is curated by Kearny Street Workshop, the country’s oldest Asian Pacific American multidisciplinary arts organization, in partnership with EBALDC.
