The plan to transform the North Berkeley BART station’s parking lots into a transit-oriented housing village just got a boost from Sacramento.
Transportation officials announced Thursday that BART has been awarded a $25 million grant for a suite of infrastructure upgrades meant to make it easier to access the North Berkeley station once the project’s planned 739 apartments are built and most of its rider parking is removed.
