Marcus Garvey Commons
Located in West Oakland within walking distance of the BART station, Marcus Garvey Commons provides 22 family townhomes with individual, private rear patios for all units, small, shared frontyards, and an outdoor children’s play area. The apartment homes encircle the development’s common spaces – parking lot, laundry room, community room and kitchen, and outdoor recreation area.
The project was named in honor of Marcus Garvey, who sought to better the economic development of African Americans and coordinated a national "Back to Africa" campaign.
