Property Description
Frank G. Mar Community Housing is a mixed-use development completed in 1990. Built as a response to the need for affordable homes in Chinatown and Downtown Oakland it also helped to revitalize the downtown commercial district by adding 12,500 sq ft of neighborhood serving retail, child care space and public parking.
The building is named after Reverend Frank G. Mar, one of EBALDC’s founders. For 20 years he served as pastor of the Chinese Presbyterian Church and helped to establish many social service agencies that continue to benefit the community.
