REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS: The Grove at Preservation Park
Outdoor Cultural Activation Opportunities

EBALDC invites organizations, artists, event producers, and collectives to bring energy to Preservation Park through recurring outdoor activation events beginning in early 2026. Set within one of downtown Oakland’s most beautiful historic venues, this opportunity seeks partners to curate and operate weekly, monthly, or seasonal programming that nurtures community connection and celebrates Oakland’s arts and history. Ideal proposals may include cultural performances and festivals, farmers’ or makers’ markets, night markets, food pop-ups, wellness gatherings, or community workshops—each designed to activate the park as a vibrant historic space. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We’re seeking partners to curate and operate weekly, monthly, or seasonal outdoor events starting early 2026 — such as:

  • Food pop-ups  
  • Arts and cultural festivals  
  • Performances, dances, or exhibitions   
  • Wellness, game nights, educational, or community gatherings

  • Provide name, phone number, main contact’s email
  • Short entity overview, operations plan, schedule, and expected partners (no more than 1 page) 
  • A brief vision for your proposed event, and examples of similar activations with links to past event socials or videos (no more than 1 page)

Timeline: 

  • December 5th, 2025: RFP Opens 
  • December 15th, 2025: Preservation Park Tour, 12pm-1pm 
  • January 12th, 2026: RFPs are Due 
  • January 30th, 2026: Announce RFP Finalists 
  • February 2026: Outdoor Operations Begin
