EBALDC Elects Sean Sullivan as New Board Chair
Sean Sullivan has been on the EBALDC Board of Directors since 2017. A proud Oaklander for over a decade, Sean was a director at Covenant House California where he managed the purchase and renovation of then Mayor Jerry Brown’s home into Covenant House’s 40 bed permanent facility for youth shelter and transitional living. Sean left Covenant House to lead the fundraising efforts for No on Prop. 8 – with Equality California, which raised $14 million in a five-month period. He also led the professional fundraising operation at the Center for Environmental Health and College Track. He has raised over $45 million for nonprofit and political causes.
Sean, a past candidate for Oakland City Council, is the owner of two businesses, West End Strategies, a fund development and communications consultancy and The Port Bar, Oakland’s newest LGBTQ Bar in Uptown.
Sean has been recognized by the San Francisco Super Bowl Committee as a Bay Area PlayMaker, Gloss Magazine named him one of ten people worth watching in 2017, and most recently, was named an OUTstanding Voice by The San Francisco Business Times and by the East Bay Stonewall Democratic Club for The Port Bar’s “Business Building Community” award.
