EBALDC Statement on Monterey Park Mass Shooting

Oakland, CA — The East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC) is heartbroken by the mass shooting in Monterey Park on the eve of the Lunar New Year, a holiday that celebrates family and community.

As a community development corporation founded in Oakland Chinatown and dedicated to the safety and health of residents and community members, EBALDC extends our condolences and sends strength and light to the families and friends of the victims, to the greater Monterey Park community, and to all those who have experienced and/or live in fear of gun violence.

We all deserve to live without the fear of violence.
