Property Description
The Oak Park Apartments project represents the renovation and reconfiguration of a former motel into 35 apartments. It is the culmination of a community organizing struggle in partnership with New Hope Covenant Church to address the severely distressed conditions of the complex and its predominantly Central and Southeast Asian immigrant residents. The project addressed construction deficiencies as well as alleviated the overcrowded conditions experienced by the multi-generational families that lived in the complex. Oak Park Apartments was EBALDC’s first tax credit project built to the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee’s Sustainable Building requirements.
