Property Description
Originally built in 1907 in Oakland’s original Chinatown, the building was operated as a commercial hotel, The Hotel Arcade. EBALDC and Eden Housing became partners to complete a rehabilitation of the building. In 1996, the San Pablo Hotel reopened as a senior residential community, with Centers for Elders Independence providing services on the ground floor. Between 2018-2020, The San Pablo Hotel underwent a beautiful renovation. The San Pablo Hotel is located near the Uptown commercial district and numerous public transportation options.
Resident Mural
The MLK Blvd side of the building features resident leaders and staff who make the San Pablo Hotel a vibrant community. This mural was created through a collaborative process in partnership with residents, local artists from the Bay Area Mural Program and Kiss My Black Arts.
