Drasnin Manor Grand Opening

May 2013

Mayor Jean Quan, Councilmember Noel Gallo, partners, community members and residents joined EBALDC for the Grand Opening of Drasnin Manor Apartments on International Boulevard. The event was part of EBHO’s 17th Annual Affordable Housing Week.

Once abandoned and at risk of foreclosure, Drasnin Manor exemplifies how careful acquisition and rehabilitation of a building can preserve affordable housing and contribute to neighborhood revitalization. The building provides 26 one-, two-, and three-bedroom units for very-low income families and a storefront retail space on a transit-friendly Oakland thoroughfare. Residents will enjoy the remodeling of unit interiors, structural and exterior improvements, sustainable green features and community amenities.
