EBALDC Reaffirms BLM Allyship
What do you say about a boy who just became a teenager? A man who was a new father? The former co-captain of his high school basketball team? A woman whose job was to save lives? A runner? A man who nourished our children?
We say their names:
Adam Toledo
Daunte Wright
George Floyd
Breonna Taylor
Ahmaud Arbery
Philando Castile…
And still, there are so many more names we have to say. So many lives for whose deaths we need to mourn. So many more humans.
We are tired of seeing Black and Brown people killed. We are tired of seeing white supremacy and the police who are supposed to protect us, cut short so many lives.
EBALDC continues to stand in solidarity with the Movement for Black Lives, supporting and building our partnerships with BIPOC communities, and working with our residents to help create their vision of safe communities. Our histories and destinies are intertwined. Together, we will fight for justice, mourn the senseless losses, and one day, heal.
